Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Tourism has stepped up its domestic tourism promotion campaign for the 2026–27 season, taking its destination marketing efforts to major cities across India through a series of Domestic Partnership Meets.

The programme is designed to strengthen ties between Kerala's tourism industry and travel trade partners in key source markets, while promoting the state's diverse holiday experiences among Indian travellers.

As part of the current campaign, a partnership meet was held in Mumbai on October 6, 2026. The roadshow series will continue in Pune on October 8, followed by New Delhi on October 13 and Jaipur on October 15.

The meetings bring together Kerala tourism stakeholders and travel industry representatives to exchange information, explore business opportunities and promote new as well as established tourism products in the state.

Focus on expanding domestic tourism

Kerala has witnessed strong growth in domestic tourist arrivals in recent years, making major Indian cities an important focus of the state's tourism marketing strategy. The partnership meets provide an opportunity for Kerala's hotels, resorts, tour operators, destination management companies and other tourism businesses to establish direct connections with travel agents and tour operators in different markets.

The campaign also aims to highlight Kerala's wide range of tourism experiences, including hill stations, beaches, backwaters, Ayurveda and wellness, wildlife, adventure tourism, heritage destinations, village experiences and responsible tourism.

Strengthening industry partnerships

Rather than focusing solely on consumer advertising, the Domestic Partnership Meets place emphasis on building long-term relationships within the travel trade. Interactions with travel agents and tour operators can help create new Kerala holiday packages and improve the state's visibility in domestic travel markets.

With India's domestic travel sector continuing to expand, Kerala Tourism's city-based partnership programme is expected to play an important role in generating greater awareness and tourist demand for the state's destinations during the 2026–27 tourism season.

The programme reflects Kerala's continuing effort to diversify its tourism markets and strengthen cooperation with the country's travel trade network.
